About the Role

We are seeking a Treasury Operations Specialist based in the Dallas, Texas area to work closely with our CFO and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of treasury operations, including payment processing, cash monitoring, fiat and digital asset reconciliations, and settlement exception management. The ideal candidate has direct experience working with traditional banking systems and cryptocurrency or stablecoin transactions, thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment, and brings a strong commitment to accuracy, accountability, and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Operations & Payment Execution Execute approved accounts payable payments, transfers, and settlement instructions across banking and digital asset platforms. Verify supporting documentation, beneficiary information, payment cutoffs, and required approvals before processing transactions. Monitor daily bank accounts, cryptocurrency wallets, and payment-provider balances. Maintain accurate cash position records and coordinate approved transfers across entities, currencies, and payment channels. Reconciliation & Transaction Management Perform daily reconciliations of fiat and digital asset transactions against bank statements, blockchain wallet activity, payment-provider reports, and internal records. Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, settlement delays, transaction fees, and missing entries. Maintain accurate transaction-level documentation and supporting records for financial reporting and audits. Coordinate with Accounting, Operations, banking partners, and payment providers to resolve outstanding exceptions. Liquidity Monitoring & Financial Reporting Support daily cash positioning, payment scheduling, and liquidity reporting. Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reconciliation reports and supporting documentation. Monitor payment and settlement activity to identify potential operational risks or funding requirements. Provide timely updates to the CFO regarding treasury activity, unresolved exceptions, and operational priorities. Operational Controls & Process Improvement Follow established approval limits, segregation-of-duties requirements, and bank and wallet access controls. Identify opportunities to improve treasury workflows, reconciliation processes, and transaction tracking. Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal documentation. Support the implementation of automation and reporting improvements while maintaining appropriate financial controls.

Qualifications

Required Hands-on professional experience in treasury operations, payment operations, financial operations, or digital asset operations. Practical experience handling cryptocurrency wallets, stablecoin transfers, or blockchain-based payment transactions. Experience executing payments and reconciling transactions across banking systems, payment providers, or digital asset platforms. Strong understanding of transaction processing, settlement workflows, and financial controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with detailed financial and transactional data. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Professional proficiency in English. Preferred Mandarin or Cantonese language proficiency is strongly preferred to support collaboration with Chinese-speaking colleagues and global stakeholders. Experience with ACH, domestic and international wire transfers, SWIFT, accounts payable, or payment service provider (PSP) settlements. Familiarity with digital asset accounting and reconciliation platforms such as Bitwave, Lukka, Cryptio, TRES, or Integral. Experience with SQL, Python, automated reconciliation tools, or workflow improvements. Experience working within fintech, payments, cryptocurrency, stablecoin, or cross-border financial services environments. Practical experience implementing AI-assisted operational workflows or automation solutions. What Success Looks Like Daily treasury activities are executed accurately, securely, and within established deadlines. Bank, wallet, and payment-provider balances are monitored and reconciled consistently. Transaction discrepancies and settlement exceptions are identified, documented, and resolved promptly. Treasury records are complete, accurate, and readily available for financial reporting and audits. Treasury workflows become increasingly efficient, scalable, and well-controlled as VelaFi grows.
