About the Role

Carpe is looking for freelance Video Editors to work closely with the Director of Creative Performance on ongoing, project-based assignments. The role involves turning raw footage and creative concepts into engaging video ads for paid social, YouTube, and occasional national television campaigns. You will work across vertical short-form videos and horizontal content, with opportunities to learn from experienced creative professionals. The team follows a fast feedback cycle, allowing editors to review campaign performance and use those insights to improve future work.

Key Responsibilities

Edit video concepts for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms. Collaborate with the Director of Creative Performance to refine edits and bring creative concepts to their full potential. Shape storytelling, pacing, sound, and motion to capture attention in the opening seconds and support campaign goals. Review video performance and apply insights to strengthen future edits. Manage multiple projects, incorporate feedback quickly, and deliver work on schedule. Maintain attention to detail across color, sound, motion, and final-frame quality.

Required Qualifications

Strong video editing skills, with a good understanding of storytelling and pacing. A portfolio demonstrating experience with both vertical short-form and horizontal video content. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. An understanding of storytelling and sales-focused editing, particularly for short-form advertising. Your own editing equipment and the ability to work independently from a creative brief. Reliable deadline management and proactive communication when timelines are at risk. A willingness to keep developing your editing skills and creative approach. A collaborative working style and the ability to exchange feedback constructively. Ability to manage several edits at once, respond efficiently to revisions, and communicate clearly in writing through tools such as Slack and email.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with color grading, sound editing, or motion graphics. Experience creating paid social advertising for Meta, TikTok, or YouTube. Experience editing user-generated content (UGC) or creator-led videos. Familiarity with campaign performance metrics such as views, advertising spend, signups, or retention. Location and Work Arrangement This is a fully remote, freelance position with ongoing, project-based work. Editors can work from any location.
