Senior Software Engineer Company: Wayfair. Location: Augusta, USA. Salary: $20‑30/Hour. Job Responsibilities Explore and expand principles in the domestic & retail space using emerging technologies (inclusive of new person interaction technologies, augmented environments, visible computing, and system learning). Identify high‑impact opportunities and build prototypes using the current state of the artwork technologies to incrementally validate the opportunity. Supply compelling stories that resolve ambiguity/complexity and display the application of your work. Coordinate and guide efforts with internal functional companions and external partners (consisting of Magic Bounce, Google, Adobe, & many others). Participate within the tech & creative community by publishing blogs/papers, giving talks, entering panel discussions, or conducting external outreach that amplifies Wayfair’s tech/innovation brand. Provide technical guidance and collaborate across Wayfair’s product, engineering & commercial enterprise teams for strategy, design, implementation, and release; own projects from ideation to transport, speaking scope, status, risks, and requirements.

Qualifications

Ability to thrive in ambiguous problem spaces. Expertise in creative/prototyping methods and nimbleness navigating complex initiatives while adapting to rapidly changing direction. A multidisciplinary technologist eager to leap into unfamiliar areas and learn the right tools for the job. A demonstrable track record of turning principles into truth in a team environment – ideation, building a case, persuading larger groups, validating hypotheses via prototypes, incorporating feedback, and driving projects to successful outcomes. Or a PhD degree in computer technology / PC engineering / software program engineering / human‑computer interaction or equivalent, with at least 7 years of professional development experience in multi‑disciplinary R&D environments. A non‑engineering and creative mindset paired with an entrepreneurial attitude – thinking about what, why, and how, not just how to do something. Preferred candidate locations include Toronto, Boston, Seattle, or Mountain View; hybrid work schedule requirements may apply. Compensation & Benefits Compensation: $207,000 - 230,000 per year for annual positions. Restricted stock units may be supplied as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of clinical, economic, and other benefits, depending on the position supplied.
