About Pass by Ira Pass by Ira is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating homelessness by increasing access to basic human rights, including food, shelter, education, healthcare, and a livable income. We advance this mission through community-centered outreach, volunteer engagement, and programs that promote compassion, dignity, equity, and empowerment. The Opportunity Pass by Ira is seeking passionate, collaborative, and mission-aligned professionals to join our Board of Directors. This is an opportunity to help guide the strategic direction, governance, sustainability, and growth of a developing nonprofit organization working to address homelessness. We welcome individuals with diverse professional backgrounds, lived experiences, community connections, and perspectives who are committed to advancing our mission. Board Member Responsibilities Participate in monthly board meetings, organizational planning, and governance activities. Support the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. Contribute professional expertise, thoughtful decision-making, and constructive collaboration. Support fundraising, donor engagement, community partnerships, and resource development. Serve as an ambassador for Pass by Ira and help expand awareness of our mission. Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and accountability in board service. Ideal Candidates We welcome professionals with experience or interest in areas such as: Finance, accounting, or financial strategy Fundraising, grant writing, or resource development Legal affairs, governance, or compliance Marketing, communications, or public relations Human resources, technology, or operations Community engagement, social services, or homelessness advocacy Strategic planning, business development, or organizational leadership You do not need experience in every area. We value a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute meaningfully. Commitment This is an unpaid volunteer leadership position. Board members should be prepared to participate consistently in monthly board meetings, support agreed-upon responsibilities, and contribute to the organization's long-term success.
