Location: Remote Experience: 5+ years Compensation: Up to $220,000 base Position Overview A well-established insurance defense law firm is seeking experienced Associate Attorneys to join its growing team in Northern California. Founded in 1947, the firm has over 25 attorneys and offers a fully remote work environment, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates should be located near San Francisco or Walnut Creek to accommodate occasional court appearances, depositions, and other in-person legal proceedings. Trial experience is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and represent clients in court proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage case files, deadlines, and discovery.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• At least 2 years of insurance defense or relevant litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and case management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet annual billable-hour requirements.
• Must be located within reasonable distance of San Francisco or Walnut Creek.
• Trial experience is highly preferred.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $180,000– $220,000 Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
