Human Behavior Research Internship
Part-time | Remote | Based in San Francisco | Unpaid About GenAIxGenAIx is building global infrastructure for organizational and human behavior change. We’re focused on understanding how people and companies adopt new ways of working—and what helps those changes stick. Our work sits at the intersection of behavioral science, technology, and organizational transformation. About the roleWe’re looking for a curious, analytical Behavioral Research Intern to help explore how people and organizations change behavior. What motivates someone to adopt a new habit? Why do organizational change efforts lose momentum? How can we design experiences that help people move from intention to action? In this learning-focused role, you’ll explore these questions through guided research, connect behavioral science to real-world challenges, and develop insights that inform how we approach behavior change. What you’ll do Review and synthesize research on behavior change, habit formation, motivation, learning, and organizational change. Help develop research questions, interview guides, and surveys with supervision. Support research into how people and teams experience change, including their motivations, barriers, and decision-making. Analyze qualitative and quantitative findings to identify patterns and opportunities for further exploration. Explore behavioral frameworks and how they might inform product and learning experiences. Communicate findings through clear research summaries, presentations, and recommendations. What we’re looking forCurrently pursuing or recently completed studies in psychology, behavioral science, cognitive science, organizational behavior, sociology, human-computer interaction, or a related field. A strong interest in understanding why people behave the way they do—and what helps them change. Familiarity with research methods through coursework, independent projects, or previous experience. Strong writing, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Comfort navigating open-ended questions and communicating with a remote team. Experience with literature reviews, interviews, surveys, experiments, or data analysis is a plus, not a requirement. What you’ll learn How to connect behavioral science theory with practical research questions. How to design research, synthesize evidence, and communicate findings. How research can inform early-stage product development. How to examine behavior change at both the individual and organizational levels. The internship should include a defined learning plan, regular supervision, and feedback. Approved, nonconfidential work may be suitable for a research portfolio.
