Role Description The IT Equipment Specialist role is a part-time, remote position responsible for supporting and maintaining IT hardware and related systems. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting end-user devices such as laptops, desktops, peripherals, and network-connected equipment. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues, ensure secure and reliable connectivity, and provide clear guidance to users on equipment use and best practices. Daily tasks include responding to support requests, performing routine equipment checks, documenting incidents and resolutions, and assisting with inventory management and equipment lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in Information Technology and basic Network Administration to support and configure IT equipment. Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues efficiently. Candidates should possess Network Security awareness to help maintain safe and compliant operation of connected devices. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to communicate clearly, assist users, and provide professional remote support. Relevant experience with Windows and/or macOS environments, peripheral device setup, and remote support tools is beneficial. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple support requests, and document technical procedures accurately. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
