  • Our diverse background of experience in mission support, software engineering, and applied data science serves as a catalyst to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems in support of operational users and their on-going activities.

  • Prototyping and frequent, iterative feedback are core to our delivery approach, anchored by a need to ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness in support of our customer’s mission.

  • Culture matters! The FALCON team values clear communication, ownership, technical curiosity, and the ability to contribute ideas without ego while fostering each other’s growth through feedback and flexibility.

Responsibilities:

You will support data scientists and mission partners by creating and/or refining software applications, maintaining and enhancing existing custom applications, troubleshooting defects, improving performance, contributing to code reviews and technical documentation, and helping deliver reliable capabilities in an agile, remote-first environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Current Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree may count as an additional 2 years of experience.).

  • 4+ years demonstrated professional experience with programming, design, and/or development.

  • Professional experience with one or more strongly-typed programming languages such as Java, Rust, or similar.

  • Professional experience with one or more scripting programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar.

  • Working knowledge of agile software development practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and git.

  • Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with backend development using Java and Rust.

  • Experience developing and maintaining low-latency, streaming, or event-driven data processing technologies and paradigms (e.g. Apache Flink and/or Apache Kafka).

  • Full-stack development experience with modern front-end JavaScript based frameworks, particularly React, Next, Leaflet, Map Libre, and Redux.

  • API REST framework development and maintenance experience.

  • Exposure to building and supporting solutions in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, etc.).

  • Experience with containerized deployments (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g. Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harness, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions).

  • Experience with SQL database development, schema design, query optimization, or data modeling (e.g. PostgreSQL, Apache Iceberg, or similar technologies).

  • Experience supporting research and development projects; developing production capable systems from a greenfield and receptive customer.
