Position OverviewSMA Capital is seeking an organized and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily operational activities, coordinate cross-functional workflows, and support the efficient delivery of investment management services. This role will help maintain reliable operating processes, strengthen internal controls, and ensure effective collaboration among investment teams, service providers, and internal stakeholders. The Operations Manager will contribute to operational efficiency, process improvement, reporting accuracy, and the ongoing development of scalable business operations in a fully remote environment. Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management Oversee daily business operations and ensure workflows are completed accurately and efficiently. Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures, internal policies, and process documentation. Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and service quality. Coordinate operational priorities and ensure timely completion of business-critical tasks. Investment Operations Support Coordinate trade support, transaction processing, reconciliations, and operational reporting. Work with portfolio managers, fund administrators, brokers, and other service providers to facilitate smooth investment operations. Monitor operational records and ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial and business data. Support account onboarding, operational setup, and ongoing servicing activities for investment strategies. Risk Management and Compliance Coordination Support the implementation of operational controls and risk management procedures. Coordinate with compliance and relevant internal teams to maintain appropriate documentation and reporting practices. Assist with monitoring operational exceptions, resolving discrepancies, and escalating potential issues. Maintain organized records in accordance with applicable internal policies and regulatory obligations. Team Coordination and Communication Collaborate with investment, finance, compliance, and client service teams to align operational activities. Establish clear communication channels, reporting routines, and accountability across remote teams. Coordinate with external partners to resolve operational issues and maintain service standards. Provide management with regular updates on operational performance, priorities, and emerging challenges. Process Improvement and Reporting Evaluate existing workflows and recommend practical improvements to operational systems and procedures. Develop performance reports, operational dashboards, and management summaries as needed. Support the implementation of tools and systems that improve workflow visibility and reporting efficiency. Contribute to business continuity planning and the development of scalable operational infrastructure.
