Role Description This full-time remote Optometrist role focuses on providing high-quality clinical care and support for patients undergoing vision correction procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive eye exams, pre- and post-operative evaluations, and refractive assessments, as well as interpreting diagnostic testing to help determine appropriate treatment plans. The Optometrist collaborates closely with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes, answer patient questions, and provide education about procedures, risks, and aftercare. The role also involves documentation in electronic health records, participating in virtual consultations, and maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards. The Optometrist is expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety, and exceptional service in a remote care environment.

Qualifications

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and an active, unrestricted license to practice optometry in relevant jurisdiction(s). Strong clinical skills in comprehensive eye exams, refractive assessments, contact lens fitting, and pre- and post-operative management for LASIK and other refractive procedures. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and technologies (e.g., corneal topography, OCT, visual field testing, pachymetry) and comfort using electronic health record systems. Excellent patient communication, counseling, and education skills, with the ability to explain complex clinical information clearly in a remote/virtual setting. Collaborative mindset with experience working in a multidisciplinary ophthalmology or surgical practice, and commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a full-time remote schedule and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, stay current with advances in refractive surgery and optometric care, and adapt to new technologies and protocols. Prior experience in refractive surgery, cataract co-management, or a high-volume ophthalmic practice is highly beneficial.
