Description of Work The Regional Immunization Nurse Consultant provides advanced clinical support to the Immunization Branch by resolving complex immunization issues that require specialized nursing judgment. The position assists the Provider Clinical Services Unit Manager in planning, organizing, and managing clinical activities in alignment with North Carolina Board of Nursing rules and the state’s cooperative agreement with CDC. Working independently, the consultant delivers high‑level clinical guidance to Immunization Branch staff, the Epi Section, and external health care providers. The role also functions as a clinician and educator, offering expert instruction on immunization practices and program requirements. In addition, the position conducts Vaccines for Children (VFC) site visits and evaluates program needs, nursing policies, and health‑related activities in both public and private health care settings.
