MANTECH hires a Data Scientist to support a key Federal customer with advanced analytics, data science pipeline development, and interactive data visualization for custom client applications. The role develops and applies data-driven methods and models and supports a data science project team.

Responsibilities

• Apply and validate data mining methods and machine learning models
• Design and implement data-driven solutions, with a specific focus on advanced analytical methods, data models, and visualizations
• Develop quantitative simulations and models to provide descriptive and predictive analytics solution recommendations
• Identify trends and problems through complex big data analysis
• Maintain current knowledge of emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytics
• Serve as a key member of a data science project team, supporting other data scientists and consultants in the performance of assigned tasks

Skills

• 6+ years of relevant experience in applied research directed to machine learning, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline
• Advanced Degree (Master's) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline
• Demonstrated experience with data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning
• Must possess an active TS clearance, CBP BI, or DHS Suitability (adjudicated within the past 4 years)
• Experience with analytic techniques such as anomaly detection, clustering, entity resolution, risk-based modeling, and network and cohort analysis
• Expertise with Qlik and/or other BI tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
• Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud-based distributed database technologies
• Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance, and processing large volumes of data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
