SoTalent is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to apply machine learning, statistical analysis, and analytics to complex business challenges. The role develops and monitors production-ready models, translates data insights into business recommendations, and collaborates with engineering, product, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize machine learning and statistical models to address critical business needs
• Design experiments and evaluate model performance using sound statistical methodologies
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure models are scalable, maintainable, and deployment-ready
• Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights
• Create dashboards and reporting solutions to monitor model effectiveness and communicate key findings
• Collaborate with technical teams to support model deployment and operationalization
• Monitor deployed models for performance, drift, accuracy, and reliability
• Identify opportunities for model enhancements and recommend retraining strategies when needed
• Evaluate production performance and provide recommendations to improve outcomes and user experience
• Support the implementation of best practices for model governance and monitoring
• Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for business and product stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue, operational efficiency, customer experience, and overall business performance
• Communicate complex analytical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Drive data-informed decision-making through insights, forecasting, and predictive analytics
• Work cross-functionally with data, engineering, product, and business teams
• Mentor team members on machine learning methodologies, statistical techniques, and industry best practices
• Contribute to the development of data science standards, frameworks, and operational playbooks
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation

Skills

• 5+ years of experience applying machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis in business environments
• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong experience building and deploying machine learning solutions in production environments
• Expertise in Python and common machine learning frameworks and libraries
• Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, experimentation, model evaluation, and statistical analysis
• Proficiency in SQL and working with large-scale datasets
• Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms
• Understanding of APIs, model deployment processes, and production monitoring practices
• Experience with data visualization, dashboard creation, and data storytelling
• Familiarity with modern data warehousing and analytics ecosystems
• Knowledge of deep learning frameworks and advanced machine learning techniques
• Exposure to additional programming languages and software engineering practices
• Experience collaborating with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and workflows
