Role Overview

As a Remote Licensed Insurance Customer Service Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for customers seeking support across Auto, Homeowners, Renters, and Umbrella insurance policies. Your primary mission is to provide accurate, empathetic service while guiding customers through their coverage options and resolving policy questions with confidence.

During the initial phase, you will focus on billing inquiries and foundational training. Once licensed, you will transition to full policy servicing, offering thoughtful, needs‑based coverage recommendations that truly fit each customer’s situation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls and emails from policyholders, providing clear, concise information about coverage, claims, and billing.
  • Navigate multiple systems and tools—CRM, policy management, and knowledge bases—to retrieve and update customer data accurately.
  • Educate customers on policy details, ensuring they understand their benefits and responsibilities.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate coverage solutions, maintaining a consultative, customer‑centric approach.
  • Maintain high levels of compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on product updates and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—claims, underwriting, and billing—to resolve complex customer issues.
  • Track and document all interactions in the CRM, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of customer service or related experience.
  • Comfortable managing inbound calls in a structured, remote environment.
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends, to meet business needs.
  • Strong commitment to consistent attendance during training and scheduled shifts.
  • Motivation to complete coursework and earn a state insurance license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the insurance industry or with policy servicing.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience with remote work tools (Zoom, Teams, Slack).
  • Multilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to navigate multiple systems and tools with ease.
  • Communication: Clear, professional communication with customers and teammates.
  • Empathy & Problem‑Solving: Confidence explaining insurance coverage options with empathy.
  • Self‑Motivation: Accountability, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
  • Customer‑Centric Insight: Ability to identify customer needs and recommend the right solutions.

To excel in this role, you’ll need a dedicated workspace that supports focus and productivity:

  • Hardwired high‑speed internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps upload and download).
  • Quiet, secure, and dedicated workspace free from distractions.
  • Webcam provided for training, team check‑ins, and virtual collaboration.
