[Remote] Manager Commercial Analytics

Remote · Japan Full-time

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Surescripts is hiring a Manager Commercial Analytics to build and lead a governed commercial analytics function that provides predictive, actionable insights to its commercial organization. The role owns the commercial data model, analytics platform, reporting and planning foundation, and delivery of insights supporting sales, account management, marketing and strategy leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and own the commercial data model in the Sales BI platform, incorporating end-to-end customer data into a single governed source for growth-focused analytics
  • Establish and publish governed metric definitions — bookings, ACV, pipeline coverage, attainment, stage conversion, cycle time, etc
  • Write, optimize and troubleshoot the SQL and SAQL behind datasets, dashboards and models; own query performance, refresh cadence and automated data-quality monitoring
  • Partner with Business Applications, Marketing, Finance, and Data & Analytics on data model needs, integrations, access control and data governance, acting as the commercial-side product owner for all growth team metrics
  • Own dashboard architecture, release process, documentation and version control, and enable leader self-service — including natural-language querying — retiring redundant reports and one-off trackers as coverage expands
  • Direct and develop the Commercial Analyst, prioritize the analytics intake queue against business impact, and serve as the escalation point on data and definitional disputes
  • Produce the leading KPI indicators that a commercial leader needs to run the business (e.g. pipeline creation rate and coverage, stage aging and progression) and measure performance against benchmark
  • Build forecast and pipeline analytics, including forecast-versus-actual variance by segment and leader, and support the forecast call with evidence
  • Build customer journey analytics spanning first touch through implementation, adoption and growth
  • Identify and support remediation of data conditions that distort the record, and measure the improvement
  • Deliver insight proactively: surface what is changing, what it means and what to do about it
  • Automate the recurring reporting cycles against the data model, replacing the manual export, mapping and deck build
  • Apply approved AI tooling to report assembly and first-draft narrative, with human review before publication
  • Present analysis and recommendations to commercial and finance leadership, and hold up under challenge on method, data and conclusion
  • Build and own the analytic foundation for annual target setting — historical performance, productivity benchmarks, market potential and growth assumptions
  • Model quota allocation and scenario alternatives for the compensation committee in partnership with the compensation team
  • Support territory and coverage design, including segmentation, book balancing and whitespace analysis

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years in commercial analytics, sales operations, revenue operations or a comparable analytics function supporting a commercial organization
  • 3+ years directing the work of analysts as a manager or team lead
  • Advanced SQL and SAQL — able to write, optimize and troubleshoot complex queries against Salesforce and CRM Analytics datasets
  • Data pipeline fluency, sufficient to define upstream data requirements and evaluate what is delivered
  • Hands-on experience building production data models and dashboards in an enterprise business intelligence platform (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Looker or comparable)
  • Deep fluency in the Salesforce data model, including what CRM data can and cannot support
  • Experience embedded in a commercial organization, with direct knowledge of the leading indicators leaders use to run and forecast the business
  • Experience standing up analytics where little or none existed — building the model, the definitions and the operating cadence rather than inheriting them
  • Executive communication: able to present to and be challenged by senior commercial and finance leaders, and to translate analysis into a clear recommendation
  • Applicants must have a valid U.S. work authorization allowing work without restrictions with Surecripts in the U.S
  • We are unable to provide support or provide sponsorship for immigration benefits such as work visas
  • Statistical and predictive modeling capability — using Python, R or comparable to forecast performance, score which accounts are most likely to buy or expand, and test what is actually driving results
  • Healthcare, Health IT, life sciences or pharmaceutical data experience, and familiarity with long, relationship-led enterprise sales cycles
  • Experience joining CRM data to product and ERP or financial systems (NetSuite or comparable) for holistic customer health reporting
  • Experience with modern data platforms and transformation tooling (e.g. Salesforce Data Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake)

Benefits

  • Flexible Hybrid Work model: employees may work virtually while still utilizing offices as collaboration centers; with alignment and agreement from leadership, employees can come and go from the office as needed.
  • Opportunities for employee development
  • Comprehensive healthcare, including infertility coverage
  • Generous paid time off, including paid childbirth and parental leave and mental health days
  • Pet insurance
  • 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting
  • The Total Rewards Package may also include a bonus.
