Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. First American Nuclear Co. is hiring a Senior Accountant to support accurate, audit-ready financial reporting and core month-end close activities. The role handles journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable and expense processes, and internal control documentation, while partnering with the Accounting Manager and external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare core close journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and other recurring entries
• Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations with complete, audit-ready support
• Book depreciation and amortization for fixed and intangible assets, and review expenses for capitalization in accordance with accounting policies
• Ensure accounts payable transactions are entered timely and accurately, and classify and reconcile corporate card transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Ensure employee expenses are submitted, coded, and supported with required receipts in compliance with company policy
• Assist the Accounting Manager with external auditor inquiries and walkthroughs, and document process narratives, control activities, and evidence retention
• Support enhancements to close procedures, reconciliations, and reporting workflows

Skills

• Advanced degree in accounting or finance required; equivalent experience may be considered
• Typically, 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
• Significant progressive accounting experience, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or actively pursuing
• Experience in public accounting or audit
• Experience with expense management tools such as Brex or Ramp
