Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Taylor Transportation Search Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Systems for an unspecified client. The role leads complex, customer-facing systems projects from proposal through completion, overseeing project delivery, finances, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, risks, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Direct all phases of project planning, execution, and delivery, managing scope, schedules, resources, milestones, and contractual obligations
• Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, forecast costs, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions to protect project profitability
• Customer & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key point of contact for customers, government agencies, internal leadership, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective issue resolution
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead technical, operational, and commercial teams to achieve project objectives, often without direct reporting authority
• Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, manage change orders, resolve escalations, and maintain project documentation and reporting
• Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and competing demands

Skills

• 10+ years of experience in systems project management, systems integration, or complex technical project delivery
• Experience managing projects for transit authorities, public transportation organizations, or government agencies
• Demonstrated success managing complex systems projects with responsibility for schedules, budgets, contracts, and deliverables
• Strong financial management, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, build customer relationships, and communicate effectively with senior executives and public-sector stakeholders
• Experience applying formal project management methodologies
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• Equivalent education and experience considered
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
