Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. An unnamed financial services client is building a platform that combines banking, rewards, and account services. The Software Engineer will own backend systems and features across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations, while helping shape the platform’s technical direction, reliability, and scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and data models that handle high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions
• Own features end-to-end, from first idea through launch and iteration, across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
• Build systems where correctness is non-negotiable, keeping money and data accurate through concurrency, retries, and failures
• Help set the technical direction as the platform grows
• Work closely with frontend and mobile engineers to ship polished, full-stack features
• Raise the bar on reliability, performance, and observability

Skills

• Around 5+ years building backend or full-stack systems in production
• Deep experience in at least one backend language (Python is a plus, since the stack uses Django)
• Strong skills designing APIs, data models, and services, ideally on PostgreSQL and AWS
• A track record of owning significant systems end-to-end
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in distributed, high-availability production environments
• Familiarity with Django and TypeScript/React
• A background in fintech, payments, banking, or rewards
• Startup or small-team experience
• A personal interest in credit cards, points, or travel
