The role focuses on developing high-fidelity semiconductor process and device simulation tools using scientific computing and advanced numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• To solve complex physical systems
• In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with industry leaders to develop groundbreaking tools that accelerate semiconductor manufacturing and device performance study at the most advanced technologies (logic 2/1.4/1.0/0.7nm and beyond, 3D NAND, 6/4F2/3D DRAM, CIS, and 3DIC packaging)

Skills

• PhD (or MS + 5+ years of research/industry experience) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.)
• Scientific computing: Numerical algorithms (FEM/FD/FVM/BEM), eigen/linear/PDE solvers, convex optimization, computational geometry, computer graphics, advanced statistical methods (Monte Carlo sampling), etc
• High-performance computing: Distributed processing, Message Parsing Interface (MPI), GPU acceleration, CUDA ecosystems
• Computing Infrastructure: Library dependency and software release management, Git-based CI/CD with auto-regression testing, HPC schedulers (SLURM) and cloud execution
• AI/ML applications: Leveraging AI/ML to accelerate problem solving processes (e.g. surrogate models)
• Graphical user interface (GUI): Cross-platform desktop and web frameworks (Qt/QML, PySide), 3D scientific visualization and large dataset rendering pipelines, management of long-running simulation workflows
• Proficiency in C/C++, CUDA, Python, Code Copilot
• Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for tackling complex computational challenges
• Ability to estimate software development tasks accurately and deliver on schedule
• Open and collaborative team mindset
• Expertise in high-performance scientific computing (numerical algorithms, linear/PDE solvers, computational geometry, distributed processing, GPU acceleration and deep learning surrogate models, etc)
