Turing is looking for candidates with strong experience in software development, programming, and system design. Role overview: In this role, you will contribute to projects that help evaluate and enhance AI systems using your software engineering expertise and analytical problem-solving skills. No prior AI experience is required. These projects will help you explore how AI can be leveraged to improve software reasoning, coding accuracy, and development efficiency. What does day-to-day look like: Design and solve real-world software engineering and algorithmic problems to test AI reasoning. Write clear, step-by-step coding solutions across data structures, APIs, debugging, and optimization techniques. Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to software design principles. Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of code generation, problem-solving, and real-world development workflows. Requirements: 4+ years of experience as a Software Developer, Engineer, or Programmer. Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, or Go. Familiarity with Git, REST APIs, and agile development methodologies preferred. Excellent English communication and ability to document and explain code logic clearly. Perks of freelancing with Turing: Strong compensation (exact amount varies by project). Fully remote work environment. Engagement type: Contractor assignment/freelancer, potentially full-time. Duration of projects: approximately 1 month, with the possibility for extension. What Turing is NOT seeking from your expertise: Confidential or proprietary information from any employer, university, etc. Trade secrets or internal company or university data. Specific client information or case details. Any information that would violate NDAs, employment agreements or other confidentiality obligations. About Turing: Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L.
