The Opportunity Mural Group is partnering with a Series A startup to hire the fourth engineer at its Austin HQ. Its first three engineers laid the backend foundation. Next, it needs a product engineer to ship customer-facing features fast, on web and mobile.

About the Role

You'll sit with the operations team in Austin. There are no product managers: you'll shape what gets built alongside the founders, the ops team, and the engineering team in Europe. The company is on the cutting edge of AI, both in its products and in how it builds them. The ideal person wants to move fast, work on the most innovative problems in the business, and take real ownership. You'll own whole products end to end, from zero to live and scaling. Day to day, you will: Build across the stack: Go and TypeScript, MySQL, SQLC, buf.build, Temporal, React, and Next.js Ship fast using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, which are core to how the team works Make technical and product decisions that directly affect growth and customer experience What You Bring Product orientation: a track record of building and shipping customer-facing features from idea to production, not just contributing to existing codebases Range across platforms: comfortable working on different kinds of apps, including web and mobile Go and/or TypeScript: the company's main languages; strong experience in one or both is a big plus Full stack and React proficiency: this shouldn't be your first engineering role, but what you've built matters more than years on a resume AI-native and bought in: you already use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar tools daily and would feel slower without them Startup or big tech experience: you know how to turn customer needs into requirements, then build features from them Customer proximity: you'd rather watch someone use your product and iterate on the spot than wait for a bug report Speed with standards: you ship fast and iterate on real feedback, without getting sloppy Ownership: you see problems and fix them without waiting for permission, and you're comfortable with ambiguity Strong Pluses Cross-platform mobile experience (React Native, Flutter, or similar) Experience at a successful Series A, B, or C startup Experience with Temporal Working directly with founders or as a product engineer A background in marketplace or healthcare tech This Role Isn't for You If You prefer large companies with defined processes and slow release cycles You'd rather be heads-down in code than talking to customers and operators You think AI coding tools are a gimmick or a crutch You only want remote work; this role is in person in Austin What's Offered 4th member of the Austin engineering team, with real influence on how it builds as it grows No PMs between you and impact; you work directly with operations, customers, and founders An AI-first engineering culture on the leading edge of new tools and workflows Competitive salary plus significant equity Regular collaboration with the founders and the European engineering team About the Team The company is led by two co-founders, both former executives at a global tech company where they launched and scaled product lines worldwide.
