About the Opportunity: The STAFF ACCOUNTANT role provides a hands-on opportunity to develop comprehensive accounting skills within a collaborative finance team. The position focuses primarily on managing accounts payable and employee expense reporting while participating in the full accounting cycle including billing, cash activity, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support. This role contributes by ensuring accurate financial processing and supports cross-departmental operations, facilitating the organization’s financial health and compliance. Responsibilities: Manage accounts payable inbox to process invoices accurately and timely. Create and maintain vendor records and collect necessary documentation. Maintain vendor payment methods and remittance contacts. Support annual 1099 vendor preparation and processing. Enter and route vendor invoices using Sage Intacct. Monitor accounts payable workflows and follow up on outstanding approvals. Communicate with vendors and staff regarding billing and payment inquiries. Retrieve recurring invoices from vendor portals as needed. Support monthly profit and loss reviews and prepaid expense reconciliations. Manage employee expense report processes including verification and follow-up. Support onboarding and offboarding in expense and corporate credit card systems. Assist with corporate credit card reconciliations. Provide documentation and support for bank statement reconciliations. Escalate suspicious bank transactions to finance leadership. Assist with ad hoc finance projects and maintain organized financial records. Support year-end audit and documentation requests. Identify and assist in improving accounting procedures and internal controls. Collaborate with other departments as necessary. Requirements: Experience or interest in accounts payable, expense reporting, billing, and reconciliations. Familiarity with accounting systems, preferably Sage Intacct. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Capacity to support month-end close activities and audit preparation.
