Open role
QA Engineer
Interested candidates, please apply through Jobrapido with your resume. About The Company OS BENEFiTS is the first affordable health insurance and wellness benefits marketplace created specifically for the hospitality industry, by people who understand the needs of hospitality employers and workers. The company is building practical, accessible benefits solutions for an industry where traditional options have often been difficult to navigate or afford. Its products and services are designed to help hospitality businesses support their teams with meaningful health insurance and wellness resources. This opportunity is listed on Jobrapido. The selected candidate will work with OS BENEFiTS’s product and engineering team, contributing directly to the quality and reliability of products that serve hospitality businesses and individuals. About The Role OS BENEFiTS is hiring its first dedicated QA Engineer to establish and own quality assurance across a small, fast-moving product and engineering team. This is an end-to-end quality role, not simply an assignment to execute predefined test scripts. You will help define how the team plans, tests, documents, and releases product changes, and you will be a key decision-maker in determining whether work is ready to move from staging into production. The team has major releases planned before the end of the year, including its Individuals product and Chase embedded payments. You will help validate these releases while building a sustainable QA function for future development. The role suits a self-directed professional who can quickly understand product requirements, identify risks, communicate issues clearly, and work closely with engineers to resolve them.
Qualifications
Applicants should have hands-on QA experience within a product and engineering environment. Experience as a first or sole QA hire is particularly relevant, as this position will require initiative and the ability to establish processes where they do not yet exist. Candidates should be comfortable with both manual and automated testing and able to expand automated coverage where appropriate. Working knowledge of SQL is required to query databases and validate application results. Familiarity with feature flags, staged environments such as development, staging, and production, and branch-based release workflows is important. Candidates should be capable of working independently with minimal oversight and adapting quickly to changing priorities. Experience testing payment integrations is an advantage. A background in HR, employee benefits, or insurance is also helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
Own quality from planning through release, including test strategy, test planning, execution, and release sign-off. Maintain staging as a stable and reliable QA environment, and serve as the quality gatekeeper for promotions from staging to production. Plan and conduct testing for the Individuals product and Chase embedded payments releases, as well as other product updates. Perform manual testing and develop automated tests to address gaps in coverage. Validate data and application behavior using SQL, and test features behind feature flags across relevant environments. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects, partnering with engineering to investigate issues and confirm fixes before release. Establish clear QA processes, standards, and documentation that support consistent testing as the team and product evolve.
Benefits
This position offers a compensation rate of $65 per hour. OS BENEFiTS is a small, lean organization where your work can have an immediate and visible impact. The role includes flexible hours and remote work, along with the opportunity to contribute to a product and mission focused on improving access to benefits in the hospitality industry. Equal Opportunity OS BENEFiTS provides equal employment opportunity to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
