Open role
[Remote] Lead Project Manager, BESS Field Services
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GreEnergy Resources provides commissioning, maintenance, retrofit, and repair services for utility-scale battery energy storage sites. The Lead Project Manager runs active projects from kickoff through closeout, managing scope, schedules, purchase orders, customer communications, estimates, field crews, and project coordinators.
Responsibilities
- Every active project. Scope, schedule, PO and the customer conversation from kickoff to closeout, with weekly reports that leave customers no surprises
- Same-day estimates. When a customer or site manager asks for added scope, you get the facts and the estimate goes out that day
- Paper ahead of the work. Every job has a confirmed PO, and you ask for the increase before the money runs short
- Hours that add up. You read the daily reports every day, know what each crew did and why it took the hours it took, and fix coding or timecard problems with the site manager the same day
- Clean starts and finishes. A kickoff before every mobilization so crews arrive with the scope, materials and tools they need; equipment off-rented and paperwork closed at demob
- Safe, accurate crews. Everyone clocks in and out on time, signs the JSA before work, and works to our head of safety's requirements on every site
- Site problems solved fast. When something goes wrong on a site, you get the facts and drive the fix with our VP of Field Services and head of safety
- A stronger bench. You lead a project coordinator and the site managers on our largest projects, and grow them into people who can run complex sites without you
- Each morning, read the prior day's dailies across every active site and chase what does not add up
- Calls with customer project managers on scope, schedule and PO runway, listening for problems on their site we can help solve
- Estimates for added scope, written from site manager input the same day
- A weekly check-in with each site manager on hours remaining by scope and what the site needs from you
- Kickoffs for new projects, and site visits when a job needs you there
Skills
- 5+ years managing field projects for a specialty contractor, commissioning firm or O&M provider in energy storage, solar, wind, substation or industrial electrical work
- T&M and fixed-bid work under customer POs, including change orders you priced and negotiated yourself
- Enough technical depth to walk a BESS site with a technician and an equipment maker's rep and follow the conversation
- Clear, precise writing; your reports hold up when an owner's engineer reads them line by line
- Experience leading field crews or site leads
- A bias for action: you would rather send the estimate today than tomorrow
- OSHA 30, or willing to earn it within 90 days of hire
- NFPA 70E, PMP
- Prevailing wage or Davis-Bacon projects
- Procore, QuickBooks or similar project and cost tools
Benefits
- Annual bonus
- Per diem on travel
- Medical insurance, with the company covering a portion of the premium
- Dental, vision, life and disability coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid vacation, sick time and holidays
- Remote (US) or Dallas-Fort Worth hybrid
