Airbnb is hiring a Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics, Incubations to support investment decisions and growth across Luxe, Monthly Stays, and Airbnb for Business. The role partners with senior business and product leaders, builds analytical foundations, evaluates business performance and economics, and recommends strategic investments.

Responsibilities

• Build the business cases behind major investment decisions across Luxe, Monthly Stays, and Airbnb for Business. Size the opportunity, model the returns, and frame the tradeoffs so leadership can decide where to place bets and how large those bets should be
• Own end to end performance management for the incubation portfolio, including forecasting, goal and OKR setting, and executive reporting. Build scalable reporting frameworks that connect early signals to revenue and long term value
• Track and analyze full funnel performance across demand and supply for each business. Identify where the funnel leaks, why, and what it is worth to fix
• Establish and pressure test the unit economics of each business. Determine which parts of the model improve with scale, which do not, and what needs to be true for these businesses to become material contributors
• Assess how investment is allocated across the incubation businesses relative to their potential. Recommend reallocation where returns and readiness diverge from where capital is going today
• Synthesize complex data into clear narratives and recommendations for senior leadership. Influence cross functional stakeholders to drive alignment on high impact investment and operating decisions

Skills

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced SQL proficiency with the ability to independently extract, analyze, and synthesize data
• Superb financial modeling skills and extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into decisions
• Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
• High ownership mindset with strong judgment and attention to detail
• Ideally, you have demonstrated relevant experience in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy/management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business operations, or private equity
• Experience evaluating growth strategies, ROI/efficiency returns, and the scalability of new business models is a big plus
