Real Time Consulting (RTC) provides embedded engineering systems, software solutions, program management, and consulting services for aerospace and other clients. The company is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and certify safety-critical avionics software for Air Data Systems using DO-178B/C standards. The role involves software design, development, verification, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, test, and implement embedded software for Air Data Systems applications
• Develop software in accordance with DO-178B/C certification requirements for safety-critical avionics systems
• Collaborate with systems engineering, software engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure successful project execution
• Apply software development best practices, design patterns, and sound architectural principles throughout the software development lifecycle
• Support software verification, validation, and certification activities
• Deliver high-quality software while meeting project schedules and technical objectives
• Make timely, technically sound decisions while balancing detailed analysis with execution
• Maintain software configuration using established configuration management tools

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in embedded software development throughout the software development lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of DO-178B/C software certification processes
• Knowledge of software development best practices
• Knowledge of software architecture principles
• Advanced proficiency in C/C++ programming
• Thorough understanding of embedded software architecture, software design principles, and development best practices
• Experience defining software requirements in alignment with operational objectives
• Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
