Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. First American Nuclear Co. is hiring a Staff Accountant to support accurate, audit-ready financial reporting. The role handles payables, expense and corporate card activity, reconciliations, close entries, and audit documentation in support of the company’s nuclear energy operations.

Responsibilities

• Enter vendor invoices accurately, code them to the correct general ledger accounts, and support payment runs through the proper review and approval steps
• Prepare assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close
• Perform first-line review of employee expense reports, travel spend, and itineraries for policy compliance and receipt support
• Code and reconcile corporate card transactions on a timely basis, and follow up on out-of-policy spend, missing receipts, and other exceptions
• Assist with annual Form 1099 preparation, and maintain related Form W-9 and supporting documentation
• Pull documentation to support close and audit requests, and route exception items for approval as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• Typically, 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in accounts payable, staff accounting, or related transactional accounting
• Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) fundamentals
• Experience with a general ledger or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as QuickBooks Online or NetSuite
• Advanced degree
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) candidacy or eligibility
• Experience supporting a public company
• Experience with a spend management, accounts payable, or travel and expense platform such as Ramp or a comparable tool
